ABOUT US

Nathan Weinberg, Original founder of Scranton Cooperage

Scranton Cooperage Inc. was established in 1907 and is currently run by the fourth generation of the founding family. We have grown to be the largest reconditioner/distributor of industrial containers in northeast and central Pennsylvania. Our current modern facility was opened on a 4-acre site in 1993, and is convenient to exit 36 of the North East extension of PA Turnpike or exit 186 of Interstate 81.

Scranton Cooperage reconditions and recycles used, empty containers at this facility. We carry a large variety of drum sizes and types including: steel, plastic, and fiber that are readily available for delivery or pickup. Special Orders are welcome, and are processed quickly. Also handled are Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC`s). They come in various gallon sizes (180 to 550) and types; including plastic, metal, steel caged with poly bottle, and stainless steel construction. Reconditioning of these units is also available. Washing, regulatory testing, recertification, and repairing, of all sizes of IBC`S can be included in this process. Additionally we buy used poly, steel and fiber drums as well as used IBC’s for resale to other manufacturing sites. We pick up and deliver with our own fleet of tractors or you may drop off your units for reconditioning at our plant, or have customers ship directly to us.

Scranton Cooperage is dedicated to customer satisfaction. Please feel free to contact us about any question you may have regarding: regulations, drum specifications, freight transportation, and drum or IBC processing procedures. And finally, we welcome a plant visit / audit at your convenience.
